Sam Hunt is one of those drivers. The 17 year old, who raced part time last season with his family owned team at South Boston Speedway, is now one of the hot young drivers racing out of the FDJ Motorsports stable. Hunt competed in a hand full of races at the end of last season for Deiny at Orange County and Caraway Speedway. The experience and results help land Hunt in a full time ride with FDJ this season racing at arguably the toughest track on the Nascar Whelen All-American Tour.
 

"I couldn't be more exited to get this season started", said Hunt. "We got our introduction last season to South Boston and the competitive field that calls SoBo their home track. I learned a lot about the track and the other drivers and carry a huge amount of respect for what it takes to run competitively at this track."

"This year, running with the support of Frank Deiny and crew chief Mike Lee, we'll have the best car, best team and best coach. The pieces to the puzzle are all in place, getting the results we're expecting rest
squarely on my shoulders and I'm really excited about that challenge."

Filling the void that former Virginia State and South Boston track champion Justin Johnson left when he moved on from FDJ Motorsports will be a tall order for Hunt. He's been testing and working at the team shop this year to help prepare for the season.

"It's so important to listen and learn as much as possible and make the most of this tremendous opportunity. Justin was very helpful last year and was instrumental in arranging my first test with Frank last fall. "He's a tremendous driver, I hope I can develop as he did during his time with FDJ Motorsports."
